PROJECT OVERVIEW

House at 9,000 Feet / MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects

Nestled atop a mountain in the Intermountain Region of the U.S., this residence stands at an elevation of 9,000 feet. Designed to withstand the site’s harsh conditions and climate, the home is ingeniously ‘elevated’ on stilts to counteract the 30 percent slope and the substantial 40-foot annual snowfall. Access is seamlessly integrated through a bridge, ensuring a harmonious blend with its challenging environment.
